I've been doing a video for this challenge so far, but with the holidays upon us and Jay having a new little one in the house, things have gotten crazy. So with that being said, where are you at in reading the books?
Blood of Elves, labeled book 1 in the series, was a delightful read. I loved that it was told from multiple points of view. I was able to read from Ciri and Geralt's POV. I loved reading more about Yennefer and her connection to Ciri and the help provided by Triss. This book was full of excitement and danger.
Geralt is such a crafty witcher. I'm always surprised one way or the other with his interaction with the various monsters. And let's not forget Dandilion. He is such a fun character! I feel like when he arrives in a scene, trouble always follows but then again, Geralt goes looking for it. That's what he does.
The flow in this book was much easier to follow than The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny. Season of Storms is resting on my bookshelf, and it will be the next one to read. The reading order recommended for the books, according to my googling, is as follows.
The Last Wish
Sword of Destiny
Season of Storms
Blood of Elves
Time of Contempt
Baptism of Fire
The Tower of the Swallow
The Lady of the Lake
As you can see, I'm a bit out of order. No worries, though, right?
So friend tell me, have you started the series, or maybe have you watched season one on Netflix? I'm excited for season two to drop in December. In the meantime, let me know your thoughts on the Witcher and read along with me in the reading challenge.
